The Auckland Museum is a wonderful venue to hold a corporate event or wedding reception. There are two areas available being the Event Centre or the Grand Foyer. There are also several smaller galleries available which may be suitable depending on the size and style of your event.
The Event Centre
This circular glazed space offers panoramic views across Auckland and can accommodate up to 450 guests for a seated event or up to 700 guests for cocktails. Venue hire includes the use of oval banquet tables and banquet chairs. The Event Centre is available for both day and evening events, 7 days a week.
The Grand Foyer
The majestic Grand Foyer is situated at the ground floor northern entrance and is the perfect setting for glamorous parties, product launches, banquets and wedding receptions. If your occasion requires a unique location with splendid columns and timeless classical design, the Grand Foyer is the ideal location for you. Fitted out with elegant stone and marble your guests with revel in the sense of occasion, taking away lasting memories of the perfect event. The Grand Foyer is available for stand-alone occasions or can be hired in combination with a special viewing of any of our permanent galleries. The Grand Foyer accommodates up to 400 guests for cocktails (less if a dance floor is required) and a maximum of 150 guests for a seated dinner.
